The Leader Within You

The Leader Within You

For students graduating 4th-5th grade in ’25-‘26 school year (curriculum ranges 6th to 7th grade)

Date: Week 3, July 20-24
Time: 9:45-11:15am
Instructor: Mr. Castelluccio

Leaders throughout history have come in a great variety of forms: from charismatic to brave to articulate to strong to quietly fearless while leading the way by example alone. It does NOT matter who you are. KIC believes that every kid out there has been gifted specific traits which lend themselves to being a leader. Let’s explore together as we journey into the past and study the minds and actions of influential leaders throughout history and from around the world. Students will strengthen their critical thinking and interpersonal skills as they examine specific qualities of these impactful people from history and draw out the traits which enabled them to be successful. Students will then self-reflect through a deep dive of metacognition in order to identify overlapping traits of potential that they see in themselves and how those qualities could have a positive impact on the world around them. Join us as we grow and evolve with confidence while unlocking our enormous potential—together!

Prereq’s: Students do NOT need to feel like they are natural “leaders” when they come into this course. We don’t care about that at all. As long as they have a heart for helping others, be empathetic to their fellow classmates, and want to discover who they are in order to become the person they were meant to be, then they are most welcome!
