For students graduating 4th-5th grade in 11-’12 school year

Date: Week 1 - June 18-22

Time: 12:00 - 1:30 PM

Everything around us is made of particles; from the foods we eat, to the clothes we wear. This course will offer a basic introduction to the world of Chemistry and its role in everyday life. Through the use of experiments and inquiry based learning, the students will be exposed to a basic understanding of these complex particle systems. Each student will have a daily expectation of hypothesizing, experimenting, and conducting themselves in an appropriate manner for labs. This class will get you pondering and questioning. It’s totally “hands-on” and a lot of fun!

 

Prerequisites for Crazy Chemistry and Applications 180: Students should be a natural “questioner” of the world around them, enjoy pondering and coming up with new ideas and theories, and be a strong collector of detailed data based on observation. They should be socially mature and able to work in partners and teams effectively.

 

Curriculum varies each year.
